Players are now back from break and will pick play back up with Level 30.
For the first time during the entire WPT BPO Championship, the average stack has under 50 Big Blinds, which is extremely deep for this late in a tournament.
We are still two eliminations away from an “official” Final Table.
Level 29 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1,226
Players Remaining: 8
Chip Average: 4,497,000 (68 Big Blinds)
Over the last few hands of Level 29, Aaron Overton took over this “unofficial” Final Table.
After losing a small pot to Kane Kalas, Aaron won back to back hands, increasing his stack by clost to 1,000,000 chips in the process.
The first, was a hand against Darren Elias and Nicholas Gerrity, in which Overton raised pre-flop to 180,000 and the two formerly mentioned players would call, from the button and big blind, respectfully.
The flop would come down {10h}{8d}{4c} and Gerrity would check to Overton who would bet out 275,000. Elias would call and Gerrity would fold.
The turn would bring the {As} and another bet from Overton, this time to the tune of 450,000. Elias would get a count and fold, sending the pot to Overton.
On the very next hand, Overton would again raise pre-flop to 180,000 and Kane Kalas who was very next to act, would re-raise to 490,000.
The table would fold to the initial bettor, who would flat call the bet.
The two would check the flop and turn, and when the board was community was finalized with {7c}{9h}{Jd}{7c}{Ah} Overton would lead out for 550,000, getting a quick fold from Kalas.
Overton is now up to close to 4,000,000 after being chipped down at the beginning of the level.
The players are now on a ten minute break and updated Final Table chip counts will be posted shortly.
Level 29 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1,226
Players Remaining: 8
Chip Average: 4,597,000 (68 Big Blinds)
The WPT BPO Championship is one closer to its six handed televised Final Table, as Ory Hen (Cooper City, FL) has just been sent to the rail.
The action was picked up with Darren Elias raising from middle position to 165,000. Immediately next to act, Blake Bohn would raise to 405,000.
The action would fold to Hen in the big blind, and he would take a few moments to think, before moving his final 1,100,000 into the middle, putting him all-in.
Elias would quickly fold and after getting a look at Hen’s stack, Bohn would throw a chip into the middle, indicating a call. The cards would be turned up.
Bohn:{7d}{10d} Hen: {Ah}{Jh}
Flop: {7s}{8d}{Qc}
Turn: {6s}
River: {7h}
Bohn would pair up on the flop and improve to trips on the river, sending a less than pleased Hen to the rail.
While Bohn’s call may have been questionable to some; the price he was getting, with Elias’ raise and the blinds and antes in the pot and the small percentage of his own chips needed to make the call, made it a pretty straight forward decision, as he was not going to be behind that often, unless Hen had a big pocket pair.
Bohn would complete the knockout and chip up to over the 8,300,000 chip mark.
Hen is eliminated in 9th place, for just over $70,000.
Level 29 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1,226
Players Remaining: 9
Chip Average: 4,010,000 (51 big blinds)
The action was picked up with Blake Bohn and Nicholas Gerrity tangled in a hand on a board of {8c}{10c}{4s}.
Bohn checked and Gerrity bet out 210,000, Bohn just called.
The {6d} came on the turn and Bohn again checked to Gerrity, who this time bet out 385,000.
But, Bohn did not just call, instead bumping the action to 835,000. Gerrity got a count from the dealer and called the check-raise.
The {8d} came on the river and Bohn surprisingly checked, with Gerrity quickly following suite.
Bohn would table {Qs}{8s} and Gerrity would roll his eyes as the river had given Bohn trips.
Gerrity would flash {Qh}{Qc} before mucking and seemed extremely frustrated that Bohn had hit one of his “two outs” on the river.
While Gerrity was correct as just an eight would win Bohn the hand, Bohn disagreed, claiming that any straight or flush card would have won him the hand, not because it would make him the best hand, but because had either of those cards fallen, Bohn would have bet and Gerrity would not have been able to call of with just one pair.
An interesting take that the armchair poker players can debate about, but it’s a mute point here as Blake Bohn is now up to over 7,000,000 in chips, while Gerrity is knocked down to close to 1,300,000.
Level 29 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1,226
Players Remaining: 9
Chip Average: 4,010,000 (51 big blinds)
The next orbit or so was a pretty boring affair with only one hand making it past the flop, with Jose Serratos rivering a straight and calling a bet from Aaron Overton on a scary board of {Jc}{Ks}{7s}{10d}{8c}. Serratos held {As}{9c} and backed into the straight after both players checked the flop and turn.
But then, one of the biggest hands of the last half hour developed between Ray Qartomy and Jean Gaspard.
Qartomy raised from the button to 225,000 and both Gaspard and Darren Elias called from the blinds.
Both Gaspard and Ellias checked the {9s}{5d}{4h} flop and Qartomy fired out a continuation bet of 200,000 which Gaspard quickly made 525,000 through a check-raise.
Ellias folded and Qartomy just called.
The {Ah} came on the turn and Gaspard led out for 600,000. After some thought, Qartomy again called.
The {2d} fell on the river and brought a check from Gaspard, which seemed to momentarily confuse Qartomy. After a minute of thought he announced “All-In” and Gaspard quickly folded.
Qartomy added just over 1,000,000 to his stack and is now sitting with close to 4,000,000.
Level 29 (Blinds 40,000/80,000/10,000)
Total Entries: 1,226
Players Remaining: 9
Chip Average: 4,010,000 (51 big blinds)
There has not been much action through the first 15 minutes of Level 29 as most of the hands have been raise and take from the big stacks.
In the one notable hand that actually made it past a flop, Darren Elias took close to half a million chips off of Kane Kalas, but both players checked on both the turn and river, not looking to play a massive pot, with such a huge Final Table bubble looming.
The rest of the chip stacks are very similar in count to the start of the level.

Very much short-stacked for the past hour, Zo #BrownMagic Karim finally decided to make his stand.
Kane Kalas raised to 145,000 from UTG+4 and Ray Qartomy made the call from the hijack seat before Karim pushed all-in for his final 900,000 or so chips. Kalas re-raised all-in and Qartomy tanked for 2 minutes before folding. He would say after the hand that he folded pocket jacks.
Karim: {7h}{7s} Kalas: {Ah}{Kd}
Flop: {Ad}{Qs}{10s}
Turn: {Jd}
River: {5h}
Kalas made a pair on the flop and a straight on the turn. Anything short of a King on the river for a chopped straight and Karim was going home. The 5 sent him there with $46,701.
The remaining 9 players are on a short break before the start of Level 29.
Three more knockouts until the final TV table is set.
Level 28 (Blinds 30,000/60,000/5,000)
Total Entries: 1,226
Players Remaining: 10
Chip Average: 3,678,000
Ray Qartomy has been involved in seemingly every hand for the past half hour, winning the vast majority of them.
None of the pots were huge, but it was enough of a gradual increase for him to double his stack from 1.6 million to about 3.3 million.

On back-to-back hands, Jean “Prince” Gaspard dusted off more than half a million chips.
He gave 590,000 to Aaron Overton on a board of {Kh}{10c}{4d} / {6s} / {10d} when Overton showed {Ks}{Qs} for top two pair.
Then, he gave 605,000 to Jose Serratos on a board of {Kd}{Jd}{7h} / {6d} / {4c}. Prince flashed what appeared to be A-J offsuit before throwing his cards into the muck against Serratos’ pocket queens.
