It took a little longer to get through the break than normal. Tournament staff pulled off a huge color up while they were gone when they took the 100 denom chips out of play. After a short delay, cards are back in the air for the last 45-minute level of the day.
We have another name at the top of the counts and the big stack belongs to Christian Risco. The Maryland grinder has 416,000 and the frontrunner for the end-of-day chip lead. Risco recently binked the biggest score of his career when he went deep in a WSOP Circuit Main Event in May.

Tournament staff informed the players on their schedule for the rest of the day. They will play out Level 13, take a short break, and return to finish off the day with Level 14. That will have the remaining players bagging up around 1:30pm with survivors returning tomorrow at noon for Day 2.
Last year we had 99 players come back for Day 2 and it took nearly 14 hours to find a winner. They can expect another long one tomorrow.

The action is very deliberate in the Signature Room. The slow structure and deep stacks give players a lot of room to maneuver our wait for their spot. There are still 22 tables in play and they seem to be in no hurry to put their black bounty chip at risk.
Mike Assante reasserted himself over the last level and now sits with a few chips more than 300,000 with only a few more levels remaining in the day.

Play is back underway and registration is now closed for Event 3. The Black Chip Bounty crushed the count year-to-year with 666 entries last year and 781 this time around. That puts a lot of money up for grabs between the regular and bounty prize pool.
There are plenty of top players still in the hunt including Johanssy Joseph, Josias Santos, Manny Minaya, Frank Reina, Jackie Liu, Marshall White (2018 Event 1 champ), and former WPT World Champion Asher Conniff.
We will post the complete prize pool and payout information as soon as it is available.

Even though registration is still open, players are busting out faster than they are entering. So tables are breaking and they are also relocating from the temporary tournament area. They are filling in seats in the Signature Room and soon they will all be here with only five tables remaining outside.
We also have some players who hopped in the game after a deep run in Event 1. Both Greg Fishberg and Angelo Modica (pictured) were able to make the money in Event 1 but will not advance to Day 3 in that tournament. Now they are trying to duplicate that run and make it through the Black Chip Bounty opening day.

Black Chip Bounty players are back from break as the entry count continued to climb while they were gone. They will play two more levels, take a short break, and registration will close when they return around 10:15pm.
Our anonymously named Ryan M, who had the $200 double knockout bounty pickup earlier, looks like the biggest stack between the Signature Room and the temporary tournament area. He returned to 204,300 and sitting comfortably on Table 1, one which will not be broken today.

Steve Dannenmannn was a late entrant to the Black Chip Bounty tournament and he took a seat at the front of the Signature Room at Table 1. He didn’t waste time getting in the action.
Not long after sitting down, Dannenmann opened the action and Ryan M three-bet to 3,500. The player to his left four-bet shoved for ~13,000 and Dannenmann moved all in as well for 14,800. Ryan M called with the bigger stack and Dannenmann was in trouble.
“I have a last-longer bet,” Dannenmann laughed. “I need chips now.”

The queens were in good shape for the triple and the flop seems harmless. The
turn was the first part of the backdoor flush draw for Ryan and it filled on the
river for the double knockout.
Dannenmann, the 2005 WSOP Main Event runner-up, said this was his only bullet in the game and he will now enjoy the amenities around the casino.
