Re-entry is ending in minutes – time to get in.
On 24, two big pots reshaped the tournament lead.
First, Dan Green opened to 2500 and got a respectable six callers. He bravely led into the , picking up Freddy Peralta. However, a player behind him now jammed all in for 65,000.
Dan tank folded and the action came back to Peralta. He glanced repeatedly at the all-in player, and double checked the board, not wanting to be fooled into paying off any random you might run into multiway.
Finally, aided by the preflop raiser’s fold, Freddy made the call, and got the good news. It was the flush draw he was hoping to see, the that provides a deadly attraction to many players. Freddy faded the draw and the king, and now was around 200,000.
Then, more action. A min-raise, and a short stack shove. Peralta is dealt on the button – pretty sweet. Much like Hilton in Event 22, Peralta flatted to keep the targets in, and they did stay, as two other players find a call.
On the , it checks to Peralta, who now bets 16,500 into the sidepot. Somehow, both players find calls, with one player essentally all-in, now creating the potential for a second sidepot.
The turn is somehow an action card, and it goes check bet shove call. The preflop shortstack is drawing dead with an ace rag, the first flop caller has a hopeful
, and the turn shover has
for a turned flush draw gone wild.
Peralta fades it all on a river, knocking out three at once and rising to over 300,000 – likely the chip lead, as the big stacks are hovering around 200,000 at the moment.
Stephen Moy sits alone.

Meanwhile, recall that it was Daesun Yu who took Mike’s first bullet. How did he fair?
Daesun busted earlier, then insisted he would be back for revenge. Somehow he got the same seat. Unfortunately, revenge will have to wait.

Nicholas Carbone takes Daesun’s chips with the turned straight. He check raises the river and gets all of it from the unlucky Daesun’s second bullet.

James Hundt, on distant table 20, looks keen to bluff catch here, getting two streets out of an aggressive second best hand. Two cashes so far this BPO for James. John Yanni looks on.
The guarantee has been met, yet still two levels of registration remain. The prize pool grows.

Apparently table 22 didn’t end well for Mike, so he’s now on 17, where he immediately gets into a big pot. Opening from EP, he faces another multiway spot, but this time flops it.
On , he bets 1500 into the five way field holding
, and gets all the action he can handle. Two calls, including Tony Castella on the button, then a check raise from the small blind, Ben G., to 6500.
Mike thinks for a bit and flat calls, and Tony calls as well. Someone surely has – and it certainly could be perceived to be Mike, known for his wide range and fearless play.
The turn is the , which both Ben and Mike check over to Tony, who bets. Mike and Ben quickly get the money in, and the cooler is revealed.
Ben has , nipped by Mike’s better kicker, but it’s Tony who has the straight. The river is a total brick, and Tony celebrates big early win, pushing him up to 60,000.
Ben takes the worst of it, losing the side post to Mike, who actually earns around 10,000 in the hand. However, Ben had a fast start and still as over starting stack.

Meanwhile, back on 22 before the break, Mike had shot up over 120,000, only to lose at least 30,000 to Chiang Poon, who went with the nut flush draw and got there.
Mike and Chiang took turns taking down the next two pots. Then Mike got in involved with Sam Levy in the 2 seat. In a limped pot, Mike bet the but check-called 4800 on the
.
The river paired the board, the Mike looked like he was considering leading, but checked it again over to Sam Levy, who also seemed to have a decision. He wasn’t representing many likely full houses, but could certainly be value betting the turned flush. Sam settled on a bet full of mixed chips, splashing 13,175 for the dealer and Mike to sort out.
After about forty five second, McGuinness made the call, and was indeed shown the value bet – Sam had

As you may or may not have heard, the 2018 Borgata Poker Open will be running in a new temporary tournament area. Instead of the Event Center where we have been in the past, BPO tournaments will be running on tables in the Signature Room, the Poker Room, and a new Tournament Area in between.
The slot machines have been removed from this area and poker tables are in. This new setup is just for this series and in January we’ll be back in the Event Center for the 2019 Winter Poker Open.
This new tournament area is perfectly situated between Bread and Butter on one side and the escalator to the Marketplace Eatery on the other, giving players quick and easy access to refreshments. It’s also just a few steps to the Race and Sports Book for those who need to place a bet and the North Entrance, for those who need to step outside for some fresh air.
Online registration is closed, but on-site registration begins at 12 noon Monday, September 3rd and will remain open until midnight. Beginning Tuesday, registration will be open from 8am to midnight daily throughout the series at the Cashier windows across from the entrance to Bobby Flay’s.
