Rich Lahey and Sonny Patel went heads up to the flop and Patel checked. Lahey bet 150,000 into a main pot of 225,000. Patel check raised all in for 470,000 on top sending Lahey deep into the tank.
Lahey eventually called turning over for just ace high in the biggest pot of the tournament.
His read was the correct one as Patel tabled for just nine high. The turn
and river
were no help to Patel and he was sent to the rail. “It just didn’t make sense” said Lahey as he raked in the massive pot to take the lead.

The players have returned from break and the cards are back in the air here in the Signature Room. WSOP bracelet winner Jonathan Hilton has quietly been amassing one of the biggest stacks in the room.
He is now sitting with just under 1,000,000 with 27 players remaining. Recent WSOP Circuit ring winner Justin Carey is sharing the felt with Hilton on table 2.
Carey is also sitting behind a massive stack of just under 1,000,000 and there’s plenty of potential for a monster pot in the future if these two big stacks clash.

The under the gun player moved all in for her last 10,100 and four players called. With the action on Charles Smith in the big blind he re-shoved all in for 92,500.
All four callers quickly released their hands and Smith turned over . The under the gun player would need to improve holding
to survive.
The dealer spread the flop and Smith flopped middle set to put a hammerlock on the hand. The turn

improved Smith to a full house sending his opponent to the rail.
