After a heads-up adjusted payout deal, Ron ‘Wink’ Winkelvoss is our Event 2 Omaha/Stud H/L mix winner. He’ll take home $9,726* and his first-ever Borgata Open trophy — the first of 21 trophies to be awarded during this Borgata Poker Open series.
Wink was a top-three stack at the start of Day 2, despite making what he called “a mistake” late on Day 1. He explained that he was so tired he used the wrong denomination of chips when he intended to raise, but was only enough to call. That resulted in a lost pot near the end of Day 1.
Nevertheless, he started Day 2 refreshed and sharp, ready to do battle, and came up with the win. The retired entrepreneur has come close before at Borgata, with final table appearances in OE, HOSE, HORSE, PLO, and PLO/8, but this is the first time he’s taken home a Borgata trophy.
He’s got an OE win from a casino in Florida and a HOSE title from Mississippi, and now he’s completed the triple crown with an OE title from New Jersey.

Before a single hand was dealt heads-up, the final two players agreed on an adjusted payout arrangement. With nearly a 2:1 chip lead, Ron ‘Wink’ Winkelvoss gets the win and $9,726*, along with his first Borgata Hotel replica trophy.
Jeff ‘Taxman’ Moses is our second-place finisher and will collect $7,400* for his work over these last two days. The Taxman started Day 2 in the middle of the pack with only 77,000 chips (fewer than 4 big bets). He worked his stack well and held on all the way to the final two.

After the flurry of eliminations in Level 23, Level 24 was quite tame.
Near the end of the 30-minutes, a big three-way Stud/8 hand developed between Wink Winkelvoss, Jeff ‘Taxman’ Moses, and Mike Gabarick.
The TaxMan was applying pressure the whole way with an open pair of Aces, but the other two held on until the river. It was checked to Wink who bet (80,000) which the TaxMan called. Mike folded.
“Flush” said Wink. He three diamonds up and two in the hole to beat the TaxMan’s Aces and scoop the pot. That took his stack north of 1 million chips. The TaxMan was left short with about 90,000.
On the last hand of the level, Jeff ‘TaxMan’ Moses got some back. He got all-in on 5th street and called by Mike Gabarick. Mike whiffed and Jeff scooped to end the level.

Justin adds another OE final table appearance to his collection, but once again came up short of the ultimate goal, the Borgata Open trophy. For his 5th place finish, he’ll collect $2,024.

Playing Omaha/8:
Lonnie Heimowitz raised all-in pre-flop, getting his last 35,000 in the pot. Ed Betlow called from the small blind and Wink Winkelvoss called the extra 5,000 in the dark from the big blind.
The flop fell and Ed led out for 30,000. Wink asked what he had left, (45,000) and raised. Ed put in his last chips on the three-bet and Wink called. All the hands were tabled:
Ed:
Wink:
Lonnie:
Wink had flopped the straight and a nice low and it looked like he was headed for a double-elimination, but the last two cards came giving Lonnie a bigger straight. Wink scooped the side pot and took the low half of the main. He’s up to ~685,000. Lonnie survived elimination, taking the high-half of the main pot (about 60,000).
Ed Betlow was eliminated in 8th place, earning $934.
