The late levels saw Shang Dai pass Sam Lopez, almost entirely on account of a well-played hand where Dai’s flopped set of sevens was turned into a bluff catcher when most available draws completed on a spade and straightening river. His opponent shoved the scare card river, but Dai eventually made the call, nearly forced by the strength of his hand.
Shaun O’Donnell finished with 366,100, and Roland Israelashvili also took more than 300,000.
A complete list of stacks and the seat draw will be posted when available.
Day 2 players should gather later today at noon, Saturday, September 15.
