Christopher Waters

Mike Lavenburg opened utg to 1.6 million and action folded around to Christopher Waters in the big blind, who jammed for ~5 million.  Mike called, only to see that his KQ was dominated by Christopher’s AK.

He caught a Queen on the turn, however, to take the pot.  Mike chipped up to ~26 million.

Christopher busted out in 10th place, earning $10,829.

Now that we’re at the final table, levels are 60 minutes long.

Aaron Motoyama

Aaron Motoyama opened for 1.9 million under-the-gun and Kory Shope (bb) was his only caller.  The flop came and Kory checked, Aaron bet 2.1 million, Kory raised to 5.1 million, and Aaron let it go.  Kory pulled that pot.

Then on the next hand, action folded around to Kory in the small blind and he opened to 2 million.  Aaron (bb) raised to 10 million and Kory let it go.

Kory Shope

It has gotten very quiet at the final table.  No table-talk, just the riffling of chips.  Looks like they are settling in for some series poker.

Oscar Menjivar

On the last hand of the level, it was a battle of the blinds.  Oscar Menjivar raised from the small and Rinat Ruvinov called from the big.

On the flop of Oscar checked, Rinat bet 3 million, and Oscar jammed for 14,275,000.  Rinat called, tabling for top/top with gutshot.  Oscar had pocket Tens and had flopped a set.

The board completed with the and the which changed nothing.  Oscar doubled up to 32.8 million.  Rinat was left with only 6.3 million.

The final ten are off on a 15 minute break.

Daniel Doherty

Daniel Doherty jammed for ~9 million from the cutoff and Rinat Ruvinov (bb) moved in for a hair under 8 million.

Daniel’s AQ off was dominating Rinat’s A9 off, but the board came 9 7 2 K 6, giving Rinat the double-up with a pair of 9s.  He’s got about 17 million.

Daniel was left with only ~ 1 million.  A few hands later he was all-in for the big blind with only 325,000 of the BB Ante.

Rinat Ruvinov raised to 1.6 million and isolated, then showed his pocket Aces.  Daniel had J7 off and got no help on the T 3 2 K 9 runout.  He’ll collect $10,829 for 11th place.

The final ten players are redrawing and moving to the final table.

James Patterson

James Patterson got all-in for ~7.5 million holding against Kory Shope’s .  The board came K 8 2 Q 3 improving Kory to a pair of Queens to take the pot, chipping up to about 32 million.

James finished 12th, earning $10,829.

Meanwhile, on the other table, Chris Short (sb) and Oscar Menjivar (middle) were looking at a flop of and Chris bet 2.5 million.  Oscar called to see the land on the turn.  Chris took his time, then set aside 175,000, saying “I’m keeping this,” and pushed out all the rest of this stack (12 million).

Oscar gave it up and Chris showed pocket Aces (again!) with the .  He said “I was ready to go home if you had made the flush.”  He’s back up to about 21 million.  Oscar was down to ~18 million.

Mikhail Volfson

Aaron Motoyama opened for 1.5 million, then Mikhail Volfson jammed for about 16 million on his left.  Everyone else got out of the way and Aaron called, showing .  Mikhail was a coin-flip with pocket 8s.

The flip did not go his was and the board came and Aaron took it all with a pair of Aces.  He’s got somewhere around 50 million.

Mikhail finished in 13th place, earning $7,310.

Chris Short

Oscar Menjivar (hijack) bet 1.5 million on a flop of and Chris Short (bb) shoved for 8.725 million.  Some chit-chat ensued about who had the diamond draw, etc. but eventually Oscar released his hand.

Chris showed a single card, the , and made sure the other one made it into the muck unseen.  Oscar confirmed that the Jack (top pair) was good enough.  Chris is back up to about 15 million.

Joseph Shady

Kory Shope shoved his last 8,725,000, then Joseph Shady moved in for 7,900,000 from the button, forcing out the blinds.  Kory’s pocket 4s were in bad shape against Joseph’s pocket Kings, but Joseph was the one at risk.

Then board fell T 9 7 5 4 and Kory rivered a set of 4s to take the pot, chipping up to more than 17 million.  Joseph hit the rail in 14th place, earning $7,310.

Fernando Dacruz and Michael Rossitto got it all in on the river with a board of J 7 3 7 x and Michael’s unimproved AK was no good against Fernando’s QJ (pair of Jacks).  Fernando took the pot, felting Michael in 16th place ($5,577).

Keith Molinaro

Then Keith Molinaro got all-in holding pocket 8s against Fernando’s pocket Queens.  The board changed nothing and Fernando’s now stacking north of 70 million, putting him well ahead of the field.  Keith finished 15th for $7,310.
