Jacob Naumann, who has been a big stack all day, continued very steady all the way to bagging 432,000.
Other big stacks or players we followed today:
Mark Weber – 401,000
Tony Reed – 361,000
Thomas Larson – 162,000
Eric Rowen – 423,000
Claire Chiang – 415,000
Complete and official counts will be posted when available.
Day 2 players should gather tomorrow, Tuesday September 11 at noon.

Sergey Sosnovky makes a gambling call to bust Paula Alibrandi when he improves to a gut shot straight flush draw.
On table 6 two during level 14, an interesting scenario developed where Paula check-shoved 150,000 into a small pot over Sergey. He made the call with the jack high straight flush draw, and was ahead – sitting on 450,000 before the call. It would have been quite the scoop to win the flight lead with jack high, but instead, Paula’s ten high diamond draw – the other suit on board – came in. Both finished the day with healthy stacks and bagged.
Today’s second flight is underway in the signature room – still time to register!
Good luck.

On table 1, where Blake Whittington and Rafael Reis have since relocated, a key pot for the middle stretch just knocked out a dangerous competitor.
Eric Rowen opened from the field, Lenny Palermo called, and Reis reraised from the button.
Both players flatted, and the dealer spread . Rowen now led large, 50,000 into Palermo and Reis. Lenny folded and Ries jammed for his stack, 90,000 more.
Rowen paused but shrugged a little and made the call, flipping over , needing an ace or nine for the nuts, perhaps thinking one of his overs might be good sometimes.
However, he was in worse shape than that, as Reis turned over , stealing away two of Rowen’s outs.
However, the turn came the least likely of all cards, one of those aces. Reis looked dismayed and watched for a pairing river. A blank drops, and Reis is out, giving Rowen about 300,000.
Action around the room has been equally heavy, with dozens dropping out. On next door 2, where the insane four way cooler had occurred, Monro Secor could well have been out this level. After jamming , Mike Tasker, who had overset him previously, decided the UTG shove was too strong, and mucked jacks face up, bailing out Secor.
Meanwhile, Charlie Jones has risen to 450,000, maintaining the lead at present.

Level 12 is in the rear view and players are taking their final break of the flight.
When play resumes, registration will be closed for Flight A. Flight B is up and running, so players who bust out can still fire again if they want.
One of the bigger stacks heading into the last four levels of play belongs to Cathy Schenone. She’s playing about 250,000.

Four active players were looking at a flop of 8 6 6 and seat 8 bet 3,500. John Yanni made it 10,500, got a flat from seat 5, then Armando Then made it 38,000, to go. Seat 8 folded (pocket Jacks!), and the other three got all their chips in the middle.
Seat 5: AA
Armando: TT
John: QQ
Seat 5 was in the lead with pocket Aces, but Armando binked a Ten on the turn for a set. The river was a blank and he more than tripled up to ~220,000. The other two players had him covered and had to settle up a side pot, but no one was eliminated on the hand.

Three players on table 13 were looking at a board of when seat 8 (sb) bet 6,200. Mike McGuinness (utg) flatted the bet, then Omar Taveras put in a raise from the middle. Seat 8 called the raise, then Mike jammed, having everyone covered. Omar snap-called all-in for 79,700 total. Seat 8 got out of the way.
Mike tabled for Aces-up, but Omar had
and had turned a straight. When the
completed the board, Omar secured his double-up to about 200,000. Mike was still stacking a healthy ~150,000.

As level nine wore down, Thomas Larson had re-entered and been seated on 18. A big call that didn’t ultimately work out – and he had been right – was still on his mind.
Larson wasn’t allowed to mull it over much further, as he immediately was put to the test. Thomas had opened , when the button shoved his last 10,000 with
. The SB overcalled, leaving Tony with a fold he didn’t want to make.
Larson just flatted the shove, instead of reisolating, and a three way board was checked down until the river, where Thomas was left with nothing, folding to a value bet from the small blind.
The uncalled side pot bet was returned, and the short stack tripled with the nut flush.
Tony, meanwhile, might have been regretting seeing the three heart runout, but now felt better – he had folded . “You would have f—-d me up!” he exclaimed.
Moving on. Larson opened the next pot to 3,000, finding resistance only from the big blind, Casey Pipes. On , Pipes led straight into Larson for 3500. Thomas called.
Pipes led again for 6000 on the turn, a blank , and Thomas called again.
However, the river bullet was harder. Casey bet 11,000 and this time Thomas tanked.
“I don’t think you got it,” Thomas said, looking, perhaps, for a read and a little time.
Thomas let it go after a minute, protecting his new investment in the Deepest Stack. While he had been busted the first time after a correct call went wrong, this time, no heroing for Thomas Larson.

Dan Walsh got his chips in pre-flop holding AQ against the pocket 4s of Paul Kamikaze. It was off to the races, but the board fell ten-high, missing Dan completely. Paul’s pair was good for the pot and he’s chipped up to ~100,000.
The two-time Borgata Open titleist was sent to the rail. Dan’s most recent win was last Spring when he took the Almighty trophy and more than $125,000.

Jacob Naumann took 3rd place in a four-way adjusted payout deal that ended Event 1, the BPO Kick-Off Deep Stack, resulting in a nice payday of $170,535.
Today he’s setting himself up nicely for another deep run, jumping out to an early chip lead in Flight A of the Deepest Stack. As of the break, he was playing ~260,000, more than six times the starting stack. And that’s after playing for only 8 levels.
