Event 9 of the Borgata Poker Open was the $350+$50 Almighty Stack NLH event with a $1,000,000 guarantee. There were 3,006 total entries creating a prize pool of $1,020,537 and the when the smoke cleared Dan Buzgon was the last man standing.
Buzgon started Day 3 with just over 11,000,000 but he caught fire at the final table. After doubling up with to the of Jon Borenstein with 8 players remaining Buzgon never looked back.
With the elimination of Kevin Saul in 3rd place heads up play was set to begin and it was Buzgon holding a nearly 2.5-1 chip lead. Buzgon and Borenstein quickly came to an adjusted payout deal before the first hand of heads up play was dealt.
Borenstein takes home $138,000 for his runner up finish and Buzgon earns $151,803 along with the BPO title. He has now earned over $1,850,000 in live tournaments and takes home his second Borgata Poker title to go along with his two WSOP circuit rings.
