In one of the very next hands, Jean Gaspard finally got the double up that he has so desperately needed over the last few levels.
Gaspard moved all-in for just over 1,100,000 and was called by Kane Kalas. Gaspard held {7d}{7h} while Kalas held {Kc}{7c}.
The board would run out clean for the short stack, {10c}{5d}{Js}{10d}{10s} and Gaspard would be up to just under 2,500,000, still well below the chip average, but giving himself some breathing room between himself and Jose Serratos, who is now under 1,000,000.
Gaspard would then warn the other six players at the table, saying, “You done woke up the best player in the world! You had him on a respirator and you woke him up!”
Gaspard may be exaggerating a little bit, as he has been awake all day and, no offense, isn’t the best player in the world. But, you get what he’s trying to say…
