Play was 11-handed for a little while, but then there was a knockout on each table within seconds of each other.
On table 2, Tim McGovern was down to nothing but an ante after having his stack crippled by Jim Plate. He couldn’t have asked for a much worse hand, either as his 4-2 offsuit lost to Kenneth Krug’s pocket fives.
The much more interesting hand was on Table 1.
Larry Hirsch was all-in and got a call from Dennis DeKenipp.
Hirsch: {Ah}{Jd} DeKenipp: {Ac}{Qc}
Flop: {Kc}{Jc}{10c}
They technically put the {Kh} and {10d} out on the turn and river, but the hand was 100% finished after DeKenipp flopped a royal flush!!! This blogger feels like he just found a four-leaf clover.
Here’s the seating chart for the final table:
- Jim Plate
- Frank Dorigo
- Kenneth Krug
- Dennis DeKenipp
- David Apostolico
- Joe Rieg
- Rosalind Dunmore
- Michael “Dead Money” Barrow
- David Rosenau
